Renting a car requires a responsible attitude because it’s a valuable asset of the company. Therefore, not every client is eligible — rental companies may refuse service for several reasons:
- Insufficient age or driving experience. Renters must be at least 21 years old (25 for certain models) and have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of driving experience, depending on the company.
- Incomplete documentation. Rental companies reserve the right to refuse service if even a single required document is missing.
- Record of violations. Regular traffic offenders are not considered reliable and may be denied service.
- Low creditworthiness. Bank debt or issues with credit history can be grounds for refusal at some rental companies.
- Bad reputation. If a client has violated contract terms with multiple rental services, other companies might also refuse them.
These basic criteria help rental companies to mitigate financial risks and legal issues. If a client fails to meet any of these requirements, they may be denied a rental agreement.
