In Dubai, due to heavy traffic, the paid parking system is highly developed, and strict control is in place—cameras at every step prevent parking without payment. Therefore, drivers should follow the rules of parking and familiarize themselves with the peculiarities of different parking types in advance.
List of the Most Common Violations:
- Failure to Pay: Parking without payment or without a parking ticket on the windshield can result in a fine of 150 AED.
- Underpayment: Leaving the car in the parking lot beyond the paid time may result in a fine of 100 AED.
- Incorrect Parking: A fine of 200 AED can be imposed for incorrectly parking the car and obstructing movement in the parking area.
- Parking in Restricted Areas: Similar fines can be issued for parking on the sidewalk and in other pedestrian zones.
- Cars Without Plates: Parking a car without a license plate is considered a serious violation and entails fines of 1,000 AED.
- Parking in Special Zones Without Permission: It is prohibited to park the car in places for special needs marked with corresponding signs on the road. Parking in such a place without permission or with an expired permit may result in a fine of 1,000 AED.
- Damage to Property: Accidental or intentional damage to property in parking lots—terminals, parking signs, barriers, etc.—can result in a standard fine of 1,000 AED.
All fines can be viewed on the Dubai Police website www.dubaipolice.gov.ae, and they can only be paid with a credit card from a UAE bank. If you rented a car from Brooklands, our manager will check for fines in the database when returning the car.
