With a rented car, you can comfortably explore the city’s attractions at your own pace without being tied to public transportation schedules or tour groups. We’re going to guide you through renting a car in Dubai and what you need for it.
Step 1: Choosing a Car
The car rental service in Dubai is extensively developed due to high demand, thus, making the service easily accessible for any tourist.
- Sports cars start at AED 490 ($140) per day.
- Convertibles begin at AED 400 ($114) per day.
- SUVs start from AED 490 ($140) per day.
- Luxury autos are from AED 600 ($171) per day.
- Electric cars are at AED 1200 ($342) per day.
- Family cars start at AED 650 ($185) per day.
Start by selecting your rental dates and pick-up location, as these factors determine the availability of cars and the cost of the service. To secure a specific car, it’s recommended to book at least two weeks prior to your trip. If you plan on using the car immediately upon arrival, you might select a pick-up location at the airport. This choice can save you transfer fees and provide comfort in reaching your hotel in your own rental car, however, an extra charge for car delivery will apply.
You can return the rental car at the same place you picked it up or another convenient location. It’s important to note that returning the car at a different location might entail an extra fee, so you should take this into account during your booking process.
The cost of delivering and returning the car at a different location other than the pick-up point is:
- 185 AED plus a 5% VAT if the return is made from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
- 235 AED plus a 5% VAT if the return is made from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am.
Step 2: Car reservation
You can rent a car on the website simply by selecting the car you like and filling out an application. Filters can help you select the best options tailored to specific needs — be it SUVs, family cars, electric, sporty styles, etc. You can also place your order over the phone or via messaging apps such as Whatsapp or Telegram. Once the application is submitted, a manager will contact you to confirm your reservation, clarify all the details, and email you a car rental voucher.
Step 3: Required documents
For citizens of Russia and CIS countries
For nationals of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan), it is required to possess an International Driving Permit (IDP) for driving in Dubai and other emirates of the UAE.
- Must have an international driver’s license.
Our managers can assist you in obtaining an international driver’s license, with readiness times ranging from 20 minutes to one day, and the cost of this additional service is 200 AED.
For residents of the EU, USA, and Canada
- An international driving permit is not required.
- National driving licenses are sufficient.
For UAE residents
- Local driving licenses are acceptable for driving.
- No need for an international permit.
Step 4: The process of receiving and returning the vehicle
Upon your arrival in Dubai, you’ll need to go to the car rental company. If you’ve arranged for your car to be at the airport, it will be waiting for you in the parking lot, along with a representative from the rental company. We also offer car delivery all over the UAE and can complete the contract onsite, so there’s no need to visit our offices.
You will need to present your passport, international driver’s license, and rental voucher to our representative. Then, fill out a form, sign the rental agreement, and pay for the rental service using your preferred method. At Brooklands, insurance is already included in the rental fee and we do not require a deposit.
After the documentation process, the representative will provide you with emergency contact details and instructions for vehicle return. We recommend drawing a map or marking the return location in your GPS to avoid confusion later on.
To return the car, simply bring it to the designated location or other agreed-upon location. A representative will be waiting to inspect the car for any damages. They will also check a dedicated database for tolls, fines, fuel level, and mileage – these costs are not included in the rental fee and will be charged separately. All that’s left is to sign the return documents and the vehicle will be returned to the company.
With Brooklands, you can rent a car for any taste to travel around the UAE in just 20 minutes. We guarantee a hassle-free car rental experience with round-the-clock customer support.
