Mercedes G-Wagon (G63)
The Land Rover Defender’s 3.0-litre Inline-6 Turbo produces 400 HP — and the engine note reflects its character: a controlled growl at idle that settles into a composed hum as you join Sheikh Zayed Road. Inside, the cabin is finished in premium leather with textured trim panels engineered to hold up through Dubai’s climate extremes. The 8-speed automatic shifts with quiet authority, while the permanent AWD system distributes torque continuously, keeping the Defender composed across wide boulevards and multi-lane interchanges.
The elevated seating position earns its mention on practical terms alone. During peak hours on Al Khail Road, you read the road further ahead — other vehicles, lane shifts, slower traffic — before they become a decision. It reduces reaction lag in a measurable way. Adaptive suspension takes care of the surface beneath: road imperfections disappear quietly, so longer urban commutes arrive feeling shorter than they have any right to.
The Defender’s boot accommodates 3–4 large suitcases (75 cm) in standard configuration. With rear seats folded, cargo capacity expands to handle a family of four arriving from DXB with full luggage — no second vehicle required.
The 290 mm ground clearance handles the mountain roads comfortably, and the five-seat cabin keeps passengers relaxed across the 100-kilometre route. Loading children and gear through the wide door aperture is straightforward, not an exercise in patience.
The Defender’s exterior carries authority without excess — precisely the read you want when arriving at meetings in DIFC or Downtown Dubai. Five adults fit without compromise.
The Defender’s angular silhouette holds its own against Dubai’s skyline. Meydan Bridge — with its LED-lit wave structure — works particularly well as a backdrop. Arrive after 23:00 for clean frames without traffic.
«
Tip: Dubai’s speed cameras operate with a 20 km/h tolerance buffer. Abu Dhabi does not — factor this in if you plan a day trip to the capital.
Against the Mercedes G-Wagon, the Defender’s more compact footprint becomes a practical advantage quickly — multi-level car parks at Dubai Mall and the underground garages at JBR are noticeably easier to navigate. Compared with the Cadillac Escalade, the Defender is more agile in city traffic and burns significantly less fuel — a real consideration when you’re covering 200+ km per day across the city.
«
Tip: If you need seating for 7–8 passengers, the Escalade or a Range Rover will serve you better. For a group of five that wants capability and composure in a single vehicle, the Defender is the more balanced choice.
A few practical points worth keeping in mind before you collect the keys.
Off-road driving — meaning desert and sand — voids the insurance coverage. Dubai’s dunes look accessible, but the policy is clear on this. The Defender handles everything on paved roads and mountain routes like Hatta without issue; that’s where it belongs on a rental.
Traffic fines work differently here. Brook Drive covers your Salik road toll charges at no extra cost — every passage on the toll roads is handled from our side. Any traffic fines incurred during your rental are billed post-return based on official notices only, with no upfront estimates. And one point UAE law is absolute about: zero alcohol in the driver’s bloodstream, regardless of your home country’s standards.
If the vehicle sustains any damage — including a scratch in a car park while you were away — you will need an official Police Report to activate the insurance. This is a UAE requirement, not ours.
Pricing scales with the rental period. Renting for 30 or more days can reduce your daily rate by up to 50% compared to a 1–2 day booking. All rates are final — Brook Drive operates without a deposit across the entire fleet.
